Alpha Trains, the largest private rolling stock lessorin Continental Europe, is proud to announce the expansion ofits fleet by up to 70 Vectron locomotives.
Alpha Trains and Siemens Mobility signed a framework agreement in July2024 for the supply of up to 70 Vectron locomotives, including an initial orderfor 35 locomotives. The framework agreement foresees the provision of multiplevariants of Vectron locomotives, including Multi-System and Dual Mode units.
The new Vectron locomotives have a maximum power of uptp 6.4 megawatts and a top speed of up to 200 km/h. They complement theexisting Alpha Trains fleet of Vectron MS, AC and Vectron Dual Mode models. TheVectrons will be manufactured at the Siemens Mobility plant in Munich-Allachand the first delivery is expected towards the end of 2026.
The order includes the delivery of the first Vectron multi-systemlocomotives for France, capable of operating on the North-South corridor acrossGermany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, Belgium, The Netherlands, France andoptionally Luxembourg.
Additionally, the service contract signed by AlphaTrains and Siemens Mobility in 2023 has been amended to cover maintenance of thenew ordered fleet in Belgium and France as well.
This decision underlines Alpha Trains' commitment toexpanding its presence in the French market and promoting sustainable transportsolutions across Europe.
